Aug 17, 2022 Season 1
Nicole Goldfarb M.A., CCC-SLP, COM® & Renata Nehme RDH, BSDH, COM®

In this episode, Dr. Martha Cortes and Dr. Jenny Hobson will be interviewing Dr. Karen Parker Davidson, RN, an expert in rhinomanometry. Rhinomanometry measures air pressure and the rate of airflow during breathing. These measurements are then used to calculate nasal airway resistance which is important in the field of airway treatment. So many of us don’t realize that our noses are actually the problem, and we need to work on improving the ability to breathe out of it.

Many of us have a bend in our nose called a deviated septum which narrows our nasal passages. Slowly but surely, this causes us to breathe through our mouth and the beginning of an airway compromise. Learn about the history of rhinomanometry, what normal values look like and where to find this testing. Dr. Davidson will review the key output parameters and what the data means.
